Why you're not losing weight while eating healthy.

Updated: Dec 23, 2021

Tired of the constant disappointment when stepping on the scale for your weekly weigh in? Seeing the same, or even a bigger number than before, when you thought you'd been crushing it all week? Been there, and sometimes still there! Losing weight can be a slow and tricky process, and honestly sometimes straight frustrating. With everyones unique body composition, genetics, lifestyle habits and more, everyone has different factors at play. The human body is already so complex that there are many reasons why your body won't be showing you the results you think you're earning. In this article we will only be able to touch on a few reasons as to why your having this problem, but I believe that with attention and action to each of these factors you will be miles closer to your goals and an overall healthy lifestyle.

The Eats

As obvious as it may seem, the reason you may not be seeing results is because of how you're eating. For many people food can be an issue, and for many different reason.

  • Not tracking daily food intake.

  • Inaccurate tracking of calories. (Not tracking snacks, drinks, seasonings and sauces. Incorrect portions).

  • Not eating in a calorie deficit.

  • Lack of portion control (and/or binge eating).

  • Eating healthy but not low cal

Many of these reason will come into play, but like your overall fitness goals, with a realistic action plan you can get through all these obstacles. My first and main suggestion would be to get a FOOD TRACKER APP. This will help knock out 1/2 of that problem. You can track all what you've eaten throughout the day and monitor how close you are to your daily calorie goal. This will also take out a lot of the guess work there is in determining calories, because these apps have extremely helpful tools for that. With not eating within a calorie deficit you really can't expect to lose weight, so although the app will help its all about dicispline. It always ok and good to treat yourself, but once in a while. Your diet will be the main factor to shedding pounds so make sure you're losing more calories then you're taking in. Saying no to sweets can be extremely hard, but remember the choices you make today are what get you either closer or further from your goal.

One main thing I want to touch on is the sucky truth that many people are eating extremely healthy all the time, but are actually not eating low cal. Be sure to do your research and read nutrition facts because many healthy options have extreme high calories, even in small portions.

Inconsistency

Battling inconsistency will be one of the hardest parts of your healthy lifestyle process. Whether in regards to workouts or eating, consistency is key to success. This is why fast and major changes are usually unsustainable, and why many experts with tell you to make gradual changes. The slow transition will help you develop these knew practices into a lifestyle as opposed to something you constantly have to think about.

Ways to stay consistent:

  1. Plan your workouts

  2. Get a workout partner

  3. Set goals contingent on accomplishing weekly/ bi weekly goals

  4. Be patient and realistic with your goals

  5. Give yourself treat days

  6. Make it fun
